Virgil Thomson by Virgil Thomson
New York: Knopf, 1966.
First edition. Hardcover. Item #70
Near fine in a just about near fine uclipped dust jacket, slightly toned at the spine, else fine. This copy inscribed and signed on the front free endpaper by the composer to a well known New York art and dance critic. A very attractive copy of this autobiography; although Thompson's reputation and influence is diminishing with the years, he was once widely considered one of the most important figures in contemporary American music, perhaps primarily so through his own efforts to establish himself as such.
